چکیده
Properties of the three-nucleon bound state are examined in the Faddeev formalism, in which the quark-model nucleon-nucleon interaction is explicitly incorporated to calculate the off-shell T -matrix. The most recent version, fss2, of the Kyoto-Niigata quark-model potential yields the ground-state energy E(3H) = −8.514 MeV in the 34 channel calculation, when the np interaction is used for the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The charge root mean square radii of the 3H and 3He are 1.72 fm and 1.90 fm, respectively, including the finite size correction of the nucleons. These values are the closest to the experiments among many results obtained by detailed Faddeev calculations employing modern realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction models. 21.45.+v, 21.30.-x, 13.75.Cs, 12.39.Jh Typeset using REVTEX

There has been a discrepancy between values of the pion-nucleon sigma term extracted by two different methods for many years. Analysis of recent high precision pion-nucleon data has widened the gap between the two determinations. It is argued that the two extractions correspond to different quantities and that the difference between them can be understood and calculated.

Using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model to describe the nucleon as a quark-diquark state, we discuss the stability of nuclear matter in a hybrid model for the ground state at finite nucleon density. It is shown that a simple extension of the model to simulate the effects of confinement leads to a scalar polarizability of the nucleon. This, in turn, leads to a less attractive effective interaction be...

Interactions between the octet-baryons (B 8) in the spin-flavor SU 6 quark model are investigated in a unified coupled-channels framework of the resonating-group method (RGM). The interaction Hamiltonian for quarks consists of the phenomenological confinement potential, the color Fermi-Breit interaction with explicit flavor-symmetry breaking (FSB), and effective-meson exchange potentials of sca...

The isospin I = 0 and I = 1 kaon-nucleon S, P, D, F waves phase shifts have been studied in the chiral SU(3) quark model by solving the resonating group method (RGM) equation. The calculated phase shifts for different partial waves are in agreement with the experimental data. Further, the structure of ∆K states with L = 0, I = 1 and I = 2 are also investigated. We find that it is not like the s...

A new model for calculating nuclear level densities is investigated. The single-nucleon spectra are calculated in a relativistic mean-field model with energy-dependent effective mass, which yields a realistic density of single-particle states at the Fermi energy. These microscopic single-nucleon states are used in a fast combinatorial algorithm for calculating the non-collective excitations of ...
